The Business of Travel

This information in this section provides an overview of perhaps the most successful, ‘home-grown’ travel management company in South Africa. From its inception in 1987, the business has always been different in the way it thinks, operates, services clientele and delivers. This profile aims to show you some of the fundamental differences between Seekers Travel and other travel management companies. Whether it’s building the world’s largest travel centre or taking a major market share of the corporate travel market, as you will see, Seekers Travel is simply different.

There can be no doubt that the fundamental rules of travel management have undergone huge change over the last eighteen months, applying increased pressure to companies to manage what is normally their second or third most expensive cost to company – travel expenses. And so the first differential we will focus on, is that of ‘savings’ – not a promise of savings, but true savings delivered on behalf of our clients and some of the methodology used. Let it be said upfront in this proposal that Seekers Travel is not in the business of discounting travel, but is focussed on adding value to the travel process. Savings are commonplace as we take over the complex process of managing a company’s travel but never at the expense of ‘service’. A comprehensive, independent customer satisfaction survey in 2006 showed that 90% Travellers and 87% Travel Managers would recommend Seekers Travel.

The business of booking travel online has rocked many travel manager, agency and company as all parties take to the web, seeking airfare and hotel savings in amongst the myriad of low-cost carrier, airline, hotel and travel websites. The third differential presented in this document is our ‘online strategy’, which offers multiple booking tools, designed around your company, rather than trying to force a particular booking tool upon a company.
